Why Choose Kintla Candles?
Our luxury candles are inspired by the smells, colors, and textures of the Montana landscape. With our unique stone, antler and wood amulets, we strive to create home decor that brings the powerful energy of nature to indoor spaces.
Our candles are hand-poured in reusable vessels made with 50% recycled glass and topped with renewable bamboo lids that are branded by hand in our Kalispell shop. We use sustainable soy wax and clean-burning wicks made from braided cotton and paper. We only use fragrance oils that are paraben- and phthalate-free, partnering with small independent makers as well as industry leaders to use the best possible ingredients.
Customers love our beautiful amulets! The process of choosing both a fragrance and an amulet provides them a quiet opportunity for internal reflection and deliberation. Intentional choices make the purchase a meaningful experience that they remember each time the candle is lit.

About the Chandler

Born of a twenty year obsession with the simple pleasure of candlemaking, Kintla Candles is a dream come to life. I have been a hobby candlemaker since 1999 and I have continued to add to the breadth and depth of my experience over time, testing fragrances, waxes and wicks to find the perfect burn. I've been dreaming about having a candle business for just as long.
I finally took the plunge in the fall of 2021 after having Covid-induced anosmia (loss of smell) since December of 2020. I read a lot about people using smell therapy, so I decided to pour some candles and see if it helped. I could smell one of the candles but only faintly. When I started this venture, I was forced to rely on input from my community to choose our Signature Fragrances. As a result, I think our Signature line is universally appealing; essentially crowdsourced. If I could smell when I started this, I wouldn't have been as open about the process. Since I have been pouring candles more often, my sense of smell is starting to return! I am hopeful that the day will come when I can smell spring rains again.

Much love and thanks for taking the time to visit,
